The entire top floor of a working care home in Ayr needed renovating — 16 bedrooms, two kitchens, two lounges, three washrooms and the dining room — inside a six-week window, with residents living in the building throughout.

- Mobilised a team of specialists and built a schedule of works to the deadline
- Worked night shifts and weekends around residents and the running of the home
- Prepared all surfaces, stripped and repapered every wall
- Painted walls and woodwork throughout
- Replaced plasterboard and taped joints
- Kept disruption, noise and mess to a minimum for residents
The outcome
The top floor was handed back inside the six-week window, starting January 2023, without the home having to close or relocate residents.
