Crime scene cleaning
Once the police have finished with a scene, somebody still has to make it safe. Regency cleans and decontaminates crime scenes across Scotland, 24 hours a day, for police and emergency services, councils, housing providers, businesses and families. It is work we already do under contract for Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, so the method, the protective equipment and the waste paperwork are routine for us, not improvised.

Common questions
- When can the scene be cleaned?
- Only once the police have released it. Until then nothing should be touched. Call us when you are told the scene is released and we will arrange attendance, day or night.
- Do you work for the police?
- Yes. We clean and decontaminate crime scenes, trauma scenes and service vehicles for Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, both directly and through prime contractors. The work is described in our Police Scotland case study. We do not name the sites where we work.
- Who pays for crime scene cleaning?
- It depends on the property and the policy. Household, landlord and business insurance often covers it, and we provide documentation written for the insurer. For council and housing association properties, the landlord usually arranges it. We can talk it through before any work starts.
- Do you cover the whole of Scotland?
- Yes, including island locations, from our base in Ayr. Specialist work is run as one Scotland-wide service, so the response in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen or Inverness is the same as in Ayrshire.
- Will it be discreet?
- Yes. Crews work in plain workwear and unmarked vehicles where the situation calls for it, and we do not discuss the job with anyone who is not involved.

A site survey costs nothing and takes about twenty minutes. You will speak to the person who would run your contract, not a call centre.
